Last updated: September 18, 2026
These General Terms and Conditions apply to English language courses and services provided by EBC y Asociados Idiomas Internacional SL (“EBC”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By enrolling in or purchasing a course or service, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read and accept these Terms and Conditions.
The specific information provided at the time of purchase, including course content, duration, price, timetable, delivery method and included services, forms part of the agreement between you and EBC.
1. Courses
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the term “Courses” refers collectively to all courses and services provided by EBC, including Teacher-Led Private Lesson Packages, Trinity and Cambridge Examination Preparation courses, and Self-Paced Online Courses with Teacher Assessment.

All EBC courses involve teacher involvement appropriate to the course format. This may include direct teaching, feedback, assessment or certification.

2.1 Cancelling or Rescheduling Lessons
You must give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Notice should be given to EBC or your teacher during normal working hours.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice will normally not be accepted, and the lesson may be considered used.
This cancellation policy does not affect any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you under applicable law.
2.2 Technical Requirements
You are responsible for having a suitable device, reliable internet connection, speakers, microphone and camera where required. Zoom or other software specified by EBC may be required for teacher-led sessions.
3. Trinity and Cambridge Examination Preparation Courses
EBC provides preparation courses for Trinity College London and Cambridge English examinations.
- Courses normally run for 3–7 weeks, depending on the programme.

3.1 Cancelling or Rescheduling
You must give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Notice should be given to EBC or your teacher during normal working hours.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice will normally not be accepted, and the lesson may be considered used.
This cancellation policy does not affect any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you under applicable law.
3.2 Examination Fees and Registration
Examination fees and registration are not included.
EBC does not schedule, administer or conduct the examinations. Students are responsible for finding an appropriate examination centre, registering for the examination, paying the applicable examination fee directly to the relevant examination authority, and attending the examination at the date and location specified by that authority.
Examination registration, fees, dates, locations and examination conditions are subject to the requirements of the relevant examination board. EBC’s involvement is limited to providing examination preparation and does not include arranging or conducting the examination.
4. Self-Paced Online Courses with Teacher Assessment
- These courses are completed independently through the EBC online learning platform.
- You will take a final examination.
- An EBC teacher marks and assesses the final examination.
- You cannot pass the course unless you pass the final examination.
- Course access is valid for two years from the date of enrolment.
- You may study at your own pace and choose when and where to complete the course.
- The online platform is generally available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, except during maintenance, technical interruptions or circumstances outside EBC’s reasonable control.
After completing the required course units, you must complete the final examination. An EBC teacher will mark and assess your work.
You must pass the required final examination to complete the course and receive the applicable EBC certificate.
The certificate states the English level range assessed by EBC (e.g., A1/A2) and the percentage score achieved on the course. CEFR terminology may be used to describe the assessed level. The certificate does not constitute Trinity College London or Cambridge English certification.
Course materials are included. You are responsible for having a suitable device and reliable internet connection.
5. Prices and Payment
- The applicable course price is displayed at the time of purchase.
- Prices include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
- All courses are paid in full at the time of purchase.
- Any additional charges will be communicated before purchase.
When you buy a course, it will be clear that you are agreeing to pay.
6. Consumer Rights, Cancellation and Refunds
EBC offers a cancellation and refund period that applies to all customers, regardless of country of residence.
If you cancel within the applicable cancellation period, EBC will refund your payment and remove your access to any online course materials.
For Trinity and Cambridge Examination Preparation courses and Private Lesson Packages, if you cancel after teacher-led tuition has been provided, EBC will deduct €40 per hour of the teacher-led tuition already provided, calculated proportionally for part-hours. The total deduction will not exceed the amount paid for the course or package.
If no teacher-led tuition has been provided, you will receive a full refund.
EBC provides examination preparation but does not guarantee examination results or that a student will pass an examination.
This refund policy does not affect any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
7. Course Completion and Expiry
You are responsible for completing your course or using your lesson package within the applicable course or access period.
- Self-paced online course access expires two years after enrolment.
- Examination preparation courses normally run for 3–7 weeks, as specified at the time of purchase.
- Private lesson packages must be used within the validity period stated at the time of purchase.
Unused lessons or course access do not automatically extend beyond the applicable validity period unless otherwise agreed by EBC or required by applicable law.
8. Student Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate information when enrolling;
- having a suitable device and reliable internet connection;
- keeping your account and login details secure;
- completing your course within the applicable access period;
- attending scheduled teacher-led sessions;
- completing required examinations or assessments; and
- using EBC courses, platforms and materials appropriately.
Your course access, account and course materials are for your personal educational use. You must not share, copy, distribute, resell or otherwise make course materials or account access available to third parties without EBC’s permission.
9. Course Content and Changes
EBC may make reasonable changes to course content, materials, teachers, platforms, schedules or methods of delivery where necessary to maintain, update or improve the course or service.
Where a change is material, EBC will handle the change in accordance with applicable law.
The information provided at the time of purchase identifies the principal characteristics of the course, including its format, duration and included services.
10. Technical Problems
EBC takes reasonable steps to maintain its online learning platforms and virtual classroom services.
EBC is not responsible for interruptions caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including problems with your device, internet connection, telecommunications provider or third-party software.
If a technical problem on EBC’s side prevents a scheduled teacher-led session from taking place, EBC will take reasonable steps to arrange an alternative session.
11. Certification
Certificates are issued subject to completion of the relevant course requirements.
Completion of an examination preparation course does not itself constitute Trinity College London or Cambridge English certification. Official examination results and certification are subject to the requirements of the relevant examination board.
For self-paced online courses with teacher assessment, you must successfully complete the required final examination or assessment to receive the applicable EBC certificate. The certificate states the English level range assessed by EBC (for example, A1/A2) and the percentage score achieved on the course.
For other EBC courses, the certificate confirms that you have completed the relevant course.
EBC certificates are issued by EBC and are not certificates or qualifications issued by Trinity College London, Cambridge English, a university or another examination or awarding body. The use of CEFR terminology on an EBC certificate describes the level assessed by EBC and does not constitute official CEFR certification or accreditation.
EBC cannot guarantee that an EBC certificate will be accepted or recognised by a university, employer, professional body or other organisation. You are responsible for checking whether an EBC certificate meets the requirements of the organisation for which you intend to use it.
12. Intellectual Property
All course materials, content, exercises, documents, recordings, software and other resources provided by EBC remain the intellectual property of EBC or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.
You are granted a limited, personal and non-transferable right to use the materials for your own educational purposes during the applicable course period.
You must not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, share or commercially exploit EBC course materials without prior permission.
13. Privacy and Data Protection
EBC processes personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
Further information about how we collect, use and protect your personal data is provided in our Privacy Notice.
14. Complaints and Customer Support
If you have a question, concern or complaint about a course or service, please contact EBC using the contact details provided on our website.
EBC will make reasonable efforts to respond to and resolve complaints promptly.
This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights or remedies available to you under applicable law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Spanish law, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that apply to you.
If you are a consumer living in another country, you retain any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you under the laws applicable to your situation.
16. Contract Confirmation
For online purchases, EBC will provide confirmation of the contract and the relevant contractual information on a durable medium, such as email, within the period required by applicable law.
You should retain your order confirmation, receipt and a copy of these Terms and Conditions for your records.
17. Acceptance of These Terms and Conditions
By completing an enrolment or purchase, you confirm that you have had the opportunity to read these Terms and Conditions and agree to the terms applicable to the course or service you have purchased.
