Is interview coaching in English and Spanish necessary?
The interview and why isn’t it so easy to get the job?
Watch Director Tita Ashton explain how to address her short, medium, and long-term challenges. Below is a clip from an RTVE 2 program featuring EBC.
The answer is simple and direct. It’s not just a matter of your resume, your work experience, or your languages; it has to do with something more, something more powerful.
Our coaching-style course gives you great support in acing interviews.
That something is called confidence. The confidence you project, which makes whoever is listening believe in you, see the star you truly are, the candidate they need to hire, the candidate they know is the answer to their search for the best.
Due to my many years of experience, working with recent graduates, entry-level candidates, and senior management candidates with over 20 years of experience and exceptional CVs, I’ve observed that when it comes to interviews, we’re all the same. We all want the job, so we lose sight of the fact that a job interview is like going to a store.
You go to a store for a reason—to buy something you need or want. You go to the store believing they will be your best option for finding what you’re looking for. The store will do everything possible to get you to buy, and depending on how well-trained the sales staff is, you will make your decision to buy or not.
In this analogy, the buyer is the interviewer and the interviewee is the store.
To sell yourself, you need to establish your value and, above all, what you need to know so the buyer feels they have to hire you. It all comes down to conveying trust—your trust and their trust. Trust that you’re the ideal candidate for the position and that they’re completely confident in their choice.
Unfortunately, in any language, culture, and country, we all react differently to stressful/distressing situations such as a job interview, and that’s why we need to learn how to project confidence.
Body language, voice modulation, eye contact, the use of humor, and the ability to direct attention to your strongest points are just some of the elements you need to acquire in order to make them firmly believe that they have to have you, that you are the best option, and that they must have you at any price.
Once you’ve instilled that feeling in your interviewer, you’ve got it, and it’s time to pop the champagne!
But before you pop the champagne, you need to learn how to be that winner—get the training/coaching you need to know. So, go for it! With interview coaching (which is becoming increasingly important), job interviews will become a pleasure, not a nightmare. The best way to ace an interview is to practice, so we offer an interview coaching course.
Go for it!
